Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the official website of LIVE 2010 symposium, a multi-thematic symposium
covering all aspects of vascular disease, which in all of its manifestations is a leading
cause of death and disability.
LIVE 2010 is a new start based on the tradition accumulated by the previous yearly
organized symposia in Larissa, Ioannina and Patras. It is organized jointly by the
Academic Vascular Surgery Departments of five Universities in Greece in collaboration
with the Stony Brook Medical Center from the U.S.A. in an effort to join our scientific,
teaching, administrative, and financial forces. A Leading Innovative Vascular
Education (LIVE) symposium organized yearly that will be easily accessible in terms of
location and economics to our colleagues and the nursing staff of South-Eastern Europe
and Mediterranean territory is important. To materialize this educational project in agreement
with the vision set by the European Society for Vascular Surgery is by no means
easy. However, we trust that any existing difficulties will be overcome since we are sharing
a common academic vision.
We encourage all participants to visit regularly the website in order to be informed about all updates of the symposium.
The aim of LIVE 2010 is to provide opportunities for any physician dealing with the diagnosis and management of vascular diseases, medical students and nurses, to receive advanced high quality continuing education in the area of vascular disease. Presentations from experts in the field from our country, Europe and other continents, along with discussion, case presentations, vivid debates, and workshops, are expected to provide the latest significant advances and to clarify what remains controversial.
Corfu, the venue of LIVE symposium this year, is one of the most picturesque islands in Greece located in the Ionian Sea with superb nature and easily accessible coastline. The island has well preserved buildings with excellent architecture, rich history and interesting local tradition in art and music. All these make Corfu an extremely popular destination.
We expect you to enjoy a high-quality meeting along with our wholehearted hospitality in a magnificent Greek island hoping that you will have the opportunity to spend some fruitful time with friends in a relaxing atmosphere.
With these thoughts we look forward to seeing you all in Corfu.
